VISAR

Virgin Islands Search and Rescue (VISAR) provide a vital role in the British Virgin Islands in assisting boats in difficulty, dealing with accidents, and providing rapid transport to hospital. It is an entirely voluntary organisation funded solely by charitable donations. We encourage visitors afloat to make a donation at the collection point in the Marina Office. If you are interested in finding out more about VISAR, becoming a member, making a donation or becoming actively involved, contact VISAR by Telephone  (284) 494-4357, Fax (284) 494-6613, email visar@surfbvi.com, or visit their website at www.visar.org.

What is VISAR?

VISAR is a search and rescue organisation run by a dedicated team of volunteers. VISAR's mission is the saving of life at sea.

What does VISAR do?

VISAR crews are on-call 24 hours a day to provide the BVI waters with a search and rescue service. They are all trained in search and rescue techniques and first aid. VISAR's intention is to continue to provide search and rescue facilities for those who use the waters of the BVI. However, saving lives costs money. We support the cost of the operation through membership subscriptions, fund raising events and from donations from people like you. Please sign up today and help us make local boating safer.
